The second stakeholder meetings in October furthered the discussion on the watershed issues and solutions. Citizens expressed the concern again for the sedimentation of Lake Taneycomo and stream bank/shoreline stabilization needs. TRLWQ is researching other lake management techniques from across the nation that is comparable to Lake Taneycomo watershed’s situation. There will be short report at the next meeting on their findings. The meeting’s minutes can be found on the TRLWQ website.

Guest speaker, Jim Sandberg of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will be presenting information regarding the flood reduction techniques that the USACE utilizes on the lakes for the White River system. He will be presenting at both the Branson and Forsyth meetings. The Branson meeting will be on November 22 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Branson Rec-Plex Community Room B. The Forsyth meeting will be on December 15 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church. Please RSVP if you are attending via TRLWQ website, www.trlwq.org, or call Tammy at 417-739-4100.
